CSF Group to Build its First Data Centre Facility in Indonesia

Indonesia’s largest data center facility to support digital economy

JAKARTA, 18 July 2011 ¬– CSF Group; a South East Asia leading data center developer, manager and operator; is to set foot in Indonesia by operating its head office and high-end purpose built data center facility called the CXJ (Computer Exchange Jakarta). Focusing its business in providing a full range of service associated with data center, the Group has built its own fully-equipped building in Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta and will start its operation in Q4 2011.

The growth of internet users in Indonesia has encouraged businesses to also strengthen their data center management. Indonesia is in the list of top 5 Asia countries in terms of internet usage after China, India and Japan ; and the Ministry of Economy recently announced its goal to increase broadband penetration by 30% by 2014 . This development signals a need for new data centre infrastructure to support the growth of Indonesia’s “digital economy”.

Adrian Yong, CSF Group plc (Group CEO/President) said, “The digital economy is about building a connected community. Thus, we feel this is the right time to start offering our services to the Indonesian market. We decided to work with PT Karya Graha Nusantara to form a joint venture called Cyber CSF, providing the market a set of data center services for both businesses and service providers alike. We have the experience and expertise to support industry sectors in Indonesia including financial institutions, game development companies, and internet providers.”

Built in a 30.000 m2 area, CXJ is presently the largest data center facility in Indonesia. It has an uninterruptable power supply and a high quality power back up system. Dedicated emergency power generators will be located at each floor to assure 24 x 7 operations to support mission critical businesses. The facility will be using water chilled and air cooled systems as source of power cooling.

“CXJ will be our first high-end carrier neutral data center in Indonesia. It consists one Data Centre Block and M&E Plant House. The Data Centre Block is a standalone 8-storey purposed built facility for mission critical business and service centric applications. This means that customers will be able to benefit from our environment for their IT operations,” said Daniel Korompis, Presiden Direktor of PT Cyber CSF.

As the largest carrier neutral data center operator in South East Asia, CSF Group believes in providing a complete range of service to its clients. Thus, the Group is not only providing a data center, but also other services associated with it; namely the design and development of data centers including project management, fit-out and integration of the equipment within data centre facilities and other computer rooms, and data centre tenancy solutions.

Currently operating 4 independent data centers in Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and planning to also expand in China and India; CSF Group aims to operate a 100.000 m2 of data center space over the next three to five years. When connected, these CSF Computer Exchanges will form an integral infrastructure backbone to support cloud computing in South East Asia.
